Support to Project Owner for the National Vocational Training Institute (Phase 2)

Support to Project Owner for the National Vocational Training Institute (Phase 2)

Vocational training is a real driver for social and economic development in Africa, and particularly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) where local skills are sorely missing from the business world.

Egis International (the Forhom Institute), in partnership with SFERE and CEDA, has been awarded phase 2 of the support to project owner contract to be provided to the National Vocational Training Institute (INPP, Institut National de Préparation Professionnelle in French), the general management of which is based in Kinshasa. Egis International has been providing its expertise to the INPP since 2013.

The purpose of this new contract is to continue and increase its support regarding managing the general management and provincial departments, redesigning the INPP's teaching approach, and building and equipping 5 new provincial training centres each welcoming between 1,500 and 3,000 students. The project is based on the following three main parts:

Part 1: Support in building institutional and teaching capacities

  • Instructional design strengthening actions.
  • Support regarding managing the general management and the provincial departments.

Part 2: Setting up an innovation fund

  • The objective of this "innovation facility" is to provide support in modernising regional centres by encouraging teaching innovation, the creation of training courses in new sectors, the welcoming of students who are currently excluded, etc.

Part 3: Building and equipping 5 provincial training centres

  • Project Management Consultancy (PMC) for the additional construction and equipment of the Matadi and Bukavu training centres.
  • Project Management Consultancy (PMC) for the construction and equipment of three new centres: Goma and Mbandaka (firm phase) and Kisangani (conditional phase).
