Training of parliamentarians on budgeting in program format

Mali's Directorate General of the Budget requested that the Forhom Institute organise a training course for parliamentarians of Mali.

This three day-long training course helped to raise the awareness of parliamentarians about their role in the budget process.

The aims of this training course were to:

- present to the parliamentarians of the Finance Commission the key concepts of budgeting in program format;

- raise the awareness of parliamentarians about the challenges of switching from management of means to results-oriented management;

- clearly explain to the parliamentarians their role and level of involvement for the purpose of an optimal management of program budgeting.

This involved preparing and facilitating a three day-long training course in Bamako for parliamentarians of Mali.
