Training on HDM-4

The training course was based on the following points:

Topic 1 - The basic principles of the HDM model

• The three types of analysis (project, programme, strategies).
• Role of the HDM model in road management.
• The software's features and necessary base data.

Topic 2 - Using the HDM software to analyse strategies

• Maintenance strategies. - Defining the study's purpose.
• Costs to users.
• Economic analysis.
• Deterioration of paved roads.

Topic 3 - Calibration

• Determining the calibration coefficients.
• Analysing the results after calibration.

This involved mobilising an international expert trainer for the preparation and facilitation of the training course lasting for 8 effective days in Kinshasa.
