Training of auditors from the Burundi Revenue Office (OBR) in tax audit techniques in specialist sectors (telecoms, banking, insurance and construction).

Forhom by Egis has been selected by the Office Burundais des Recettes Capacity Building Support Project (PARC-OBR) to train auditors from the Office Burundais des Recettes (OBR) in tax audit techniques in the specialised sectors (telecoms, banking, insurance and construction). As part of this assignment, Egis Conseil is preparing and running a 30-day training programme covering the following topics:

• Common core on "tax audit techniques and tools" for 57 OBR auditors;
• Case studies on specific sectors (Telecoms, Banking, Insurance, Construction).
• The training courses take place in Bujumbura, Burundi.

The training is aimed at 57 OBR auditors on tax audit techniques in the specialised sectors of telecommunications, banking, insurance and construction.

The overall aim is to improve the quality and efficiency of tax audits by equipping auditors from the Internal Taxes and Non-Tax Revenue Office and the Investigation, Intelligence and Risk Management Office with sufficient professional skills in tax auditing in specialist areas (telecoms, banking, insurance and construction) in line with international best practice.

Building the capacity of tax officers in tax audit techniques for companies in specialised sectors (telecoms, banking, insurance and construction) in order to :

• properly identify the risks of tax evasion associated with these sectors
• Know how to assess and prioritise these risks
• Understand the aspects of transfer pricing
• Prepare and plan fieldwork
• Master the reconstitution of turnover in these sectors
• Training on IAS/IFRS accounting standards applicable to the various specialist sectors (telecoms, banking, insurance and construction)

As part of the implementation of this project, Forhom by Egis is responsible for :

• Mobilising 2 international experts
• Preparing training materials
• Running 30 days of training in Bujumbura
• Assessing what has been learnt at the end of the training course
