Technical assistance to the Comission Nationale de Certification Professionnelle (CNCP) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)

Forhom by Egis is providing technical assistance to the CNCP as part of UNESCO's support to the Congolese Government in the vocational training sub-sector. Forhom by Egis' mission covers the following areas:

Support for the operation of the CNCP - Plenary Commission

The objective of the support is to organise and implement the biannual plenary session. This action concerns 50 members of the CNCP. It is organised under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of METPS (Chair of the CNCP) and all its members.

Training of experts from certification bodies

The aim is to strengthen the capacity of the ex officio certifying bodies to examine applications for CNCP registration.

Training of experts from certifying bodies on request

The objective is to strengthen the capacities of certifiers on request in the instrumentation of application files for CNCP registration.

The results of the support are as follows:

• Support for the CNCP in the use of its tools and legal texts and identification of texts and tools that still need to be developed
• Planning the CNCP's future actions and ensuring that the certification registration process is operational.
• Training experts from the ex officio certifying bodies, particularly in the preparation of ex officio registration dossiers, and improving the technical conformity of dossiers on the following points:
• Areas of professional activity concerned and link with the job classification grid
• Skills or abilities assessed and certified
• Summary of the job specification and elements of acquired skills
• Procedures for access to certification
• Training of experts from certifying bodies on request, particularly in the instruction and compilation of registration application files, and improving the technical conformity of files on the following points:
• Description of the activities of an existing and identified trade, function or job
• Description of the associated skills, aptitudes and knowledge attesting to a qualification
• Composition of the certification panel
• Statement of jobs held and their level for holders of the certification
• Implementation of a system for monitoring holders of the qualification or diploma
• Application of the steps involved in examining certification files
• Initiation to the process of implementing a survey for the qualifications presented
