Vocational training is a real driver for social and economic development in Africa, and particularly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) where local skills are sorely missing from the business world.
Egis International (the Forhom Institute), in partnership with SFERE and CEDA, has been awarded phase 2 of the support to project owner contract to be provided to the National Vocational Training Institute (INPP, Institut National de Préparation Professionnelle in French), the general management of which is based in Kinshasa. Egis International has been providing its expertise to the INPP since 2013.
The purpose of this new contract is to continue and increase its support regarding managing the general management and provincial departments, redesigning the INPP's teaching approach, and building and equipping 5 new provincial training centres each welcoming between 1,500 and 3,000 students. The project is based on the following three main parts:
Part 1: Support in building institutional and teaching capacities
Part 2: Setting up an innovation fund
Part 3: Building and equipping 5 provincial training centres
The Forhom Institute and its partners are providing support for the overall management of a project worth a total of 21 million Euro.
Egis International is mobilising 65 person-months of international experts and 34 person-months of local experts.
