Strengthening the skills of the contracting authority for two road projects

As part of a project to support the contracting authority for two road projects, Forhom by Egis is providing the skills enhancement component for the PROVIAS contracting authority.

There are three main areas of activity:

Audit of skills within PROVIAS and development of a training plan for all phases of the project:

• Phase 1: Review of feasibility studies, with particular focus on technical aspects, economic analysis, risk management, procurement, document management).
• Phase 2: Detailed design (contracting, social and environmental management, project management, BIM)
• Phase 3: Construction (contract management, works supervision and control, BIM).

Implementation of the in-class and distance learning training plan:

• Inception and preparation of the assignment
• Design and production of training materials
• Delivery of training courses, with an emphasis on active teaching methods and role-playing exercises
• Training evaluation and feedback

Enhancing the skills of national training providers in the field of road project management

• Carrying out a rapid diagnosis of vocational training centres and drawing up action plans.
• The running of 2 e-communities of professionals by theme (exchange and sharing of experience between peers): BIM / GIS and road project management (planning, economic, financial and contractual management of road projects).
• Capitalising on the training provided to PROVIAS by national training centres.

Overall management of the skills enhancement project and implementation of the following activities:

• A skills audit and the development of a training plan,
• Face-to-face and distance learning training courses
• Rapid diagnostic missions to national training centres
• Animation of 2 communities of learners (@-communities) over 3 years
