"Protection of Qianjiang River source and promotion of the sustainable development around the city of Kaihua and Qianjiangyuan National Park" Project

The aim of the project is to develop synergy between Qianjiangyuan National Park and Kaihua County, based on environmental excellence and ecosystem restoration, as well as environmental education and sustainable economic development.

The project has two development objectives:

• To extend the biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation strategies of Qianjiangyuan National Park to terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, the Majin River watershed and Kaihua County as a whole;
• Build on the environmental excellence of Qianjiangyuan National Park and the unique environmental and cultural resources of Kaihua County to promote the sustainable development of the Majin River watershed and its tributaries, and foster the establishment of an ecotourism economy around Kaihua City.

Project implementation covers 3 components:

• Component 1: Restoring biodiversity and the services provided by natural ecosystems
• Component 2: Development of ecotourism and environmental education
• Component 3: Capacity building and technical support

Forhom by Egis - Egis Conseil implements the activities of the following tasks and sub-tasks, in conjunction with its partners:

• Task 3: Capacity building and skills training for local residents and stakeholders
  • Training needs assessment and design of a detailed training program for each stakeholder: PMO, site managers, local residents, tourists, tourism industry actors
  • Preparation and implementation of the annual training plan, awareness-raising activities and coaching sessions.
• Subtask 4.1: Capacity building of the project owner by cooperation and exchanges with French institutions
  • Diagnosis of the skills and training needs of the project owner's teams and local authorities
  • Design and validation of a capacity building plan
  • Organization of study trips to France and China for the beneficiaries of the capacity building plan
  • Organization of exchange visits to share experience and skills in China by French public and private partners

Forhom by Egis - Egis Conseil implements the activities of the following tasks and sub-tasks, in conjunction with its partners:

• Task 3 : Capacity building and skills training for local residents and stakeholders Subtask 4.1 : Capacity building of the project owner by cooperation and exchanges with French institutions

To do so, Forhom by Egis - Egis Conseil is mobilizing a technical expert in capacity building, as well as its internal teams for the pedagogical and logistical organization of training sessions, study tours and partnership exchange visits.
