Methodological support and training in development aid

The ADM project aims to build the capacity of civil servants and their partners in all areas related to aid effectiveness: development and monitoring of sectoral policies, implementation and management of budgetary aid (global and sectoral), management of the project cycle, with particular emphasis on the integration of the environment and climate change into the design and monitoring of activities financed by the European Union.

As part of a consortium of seven European consultancies or training centres, Forhom by egis carried out the following actions:

  • Preparation and running of a three-day training session on "value chain analysis" in Brussels, November 2009.
  • Preparation of teaching materials on sector support in the water sector (SWAP and IWRM: Good practices and lessons learned in the water sector).
  • Running a training course in Niamey, Niger, on the decentralisation process and its impact on public finance management, February 2010.
  • Adaptation of existing materials and delivery of a training session on "integrating the environment and climate change into project cycle management", June 2010.
  • Running a training session on project cycle management for managers from the Brazilian delegation and its partners, Brasilia, June 2010.
  • Running a training session on aid effectiveness, Brussels, June 2010.
  • Running two training sessions on integrating the environment into the management of projects financed by the European Union "greening EC development cooperation", Brussels, April 2011 and Dakar, June 2011.
