Training on Project Ownership (Client-Side Management) of Large Projects

As part of major investment projects for the development of the Port concession, involving a wide variety of project types—quay extensions, building works, road and rail infrastructure, utilities (VRD), water supply systems, etc.—the Port of Marseille entrusted Forhom with strengthening its client-side project management (project ownership) teams.

Two training sessions were delivered, covering the following topics:

Organization of project ownership and preliminary studies

  • Roles and responsibilities of the Project Owner (MOA) throughout the project lifecycle
  • The Project Owner and the project
  • Implementation of project management tools
  • Defining and managing preliminary studies

Managing and coordinating administrative and regulatory procedures

  • Understanding and anticipating “procedural” risks
  • Planning procedures: building an effective schedule to better manage risks
  • Early stakeholder consultation
  • Project design and impact assessments
  • Environmental authorization and the different regulatory regimes
  • Urban planning permits and declarations, and their coordination with other procedures
  • Public participation: public inquiries and electronic public consultation
  • Implementing obtained authorizations and managing project changes
