Training on “Managing Social Dialogue”

The objectives of the training course were as follows:

  • gaining knowledge of the rules of the labour and trade union laws;
  • being familiar with basic rules of communication and negotiation with social partners;
  • being familiar with the stages for introducing social agreements.

The topics dealt with during the training course were:

Topic 1: The components of social dialogue

  • The social actors: their history, their mandates, and how they work
  • The special features of the trade union law
  • The staff representatives’ mandates
  • The employment contract at the heart of the matter

Topic 2: Preventing and managing social conflicts

  • Communication, a key factor for successful social dialogue
  • Notions of assertiveness and conflicts
  • Management of the Employee Representative Bodies:

□ the basics of management;

□ the social fabric;

□ maintaining a sound social climate;

□ creating a partnership.

Topic 3 : Negotiating social agreements

  • Strategic diagnosis, assessment of the context, and determination of objectives
  • Building scenarios and identifying sticking points
  • Mobilising negotiation teams
