Training in “Environmental and Social Impact Assessments as part of Hydro-agricultural Development Projects”

The Compagnie d'Aménagement des Côteaux de Gascogne (CACG) commissioned Forhom by Egis to facilitate a training course for three of its employees on “Environmental and social impact assessments as part of hydro-agricultural development projects”.

The three persons benefiting from the training course are an environmentalist who has already contributed to ESIAs, an agro-environmentalist more involved in land use planning and a hydrogeologist especially involved in the integrated management of water resources, with significant international experience.

This training course is organised in two sessions of three days each, the first one in October 2019, and the second one in January 2020, in CACG’s premises, at Castanet-Tolosan (France).

The objectives of the training course are as follows:

  • be in a position to understand and analyse the environmental and social impacts of hydro-agricultural development projects;
  • be able to monitor and implement an environmental and social impact study and evaluate it;
  • be familiar with the stages of ESIAs;
  • identify the key points that must appear in ESIA reports.
  • The training course dealt with three topics as follows:
  • Principles and purposes of ESIAs
  • Impact assessment
  • Preparation of environmental and social management plans (ESMPs)

Services fournis

The services provided for this training course are as follows:

  • preparation and facilitation of two training sessions of three days each by an expert trainer;
  • design and approval of the training materials;
  • delivery of a training report;

dispatch of certificates to the participants.
