Setting up a training plan for the Cities Adaptation to Climate Change Programme (PAVICC)

Benin is currently facing a number of crucial environmental issues, including flooding, untreated solid and liquid waste, and air pollution. The Beninese authorities would like to make PAVICC an emblematic programme of the "cities and climate" experience, in the direct line of the innovative "Porto-Novo, green city" project (€8 million AFD grant awarded to the local authority in September 2015).

In order to help these cities increase their capacity to adapt to climate change, the PAVICC aims to build the capacities of the various municipal and central players in charge of sustainable urban development. These players have been identified in the municipalities and ministries.

Forhom by Egis is in charge of preparing and running 3 training courses:

  • Project management: strategic and operational management of programmes and projects
  • Integrating climate change into governance and development projects
  • Environmental and social management of projects (SEA, ESIA, RAP, ESMP, etc.)
