  • Characterising the deteriorated pavement and calculating its strengthening.

Structure of a pavement

  • Basic concepts: various parts of a pavement, role of each layer.
  • Various types of pavement:
  • flexible pavements;
  • semi-rigid pavements;
  • rigid pavements;
  • composite pavements;
  • inverted pavements.
  • Materials from the formation level to the wearing course: bituminous materials, cementitious materials, untreated materials and soil.
