Training course: ‘Traffic forecasting in urban and inter-urban areas’

The learning objectives of this training are to:

• Be able to prepare Terms of Reference (ToR) for traffic forecasting and travel demand studies.
• Be able to assess the quality of studies carried out by external consulting firms.

The training programme is structured as follows:

Module 1: Understanding Current Traffic Conditions in Urban and Interurban Areas

• Traffic counts, measurements and surveys

Module 2: Traffic Forecasting

• General principles of traffic forecasting
• Collection of road traffic data in the field
• Introduction to traffic modelling

Training methodology:
The training methodology is based on experience sharing, practical exercises and role-playing activities using real-life case studies.

Preparation and delivery of a four-day training course, including the mobilization of an international trainer and the pedagogical and logistical coordination of the training.
